What Is NuFlow Technology?

Plumbing issues can hit at any time. One of the more common and arguably devastating issues that can arise is a corroded, leaking sewer or water pipe. These lines are vital to your home's plumbing system. They need to stay on track; otherwise, homeowners will deal with leaks either in their yard or home.

What Is It?

NuFlow Technology changed the way some plumbers tackle a leak in the sewer or water line. This technology can be used on a pressurized or non-pressurized system to seal off pinholes or large holes due to corrosion. But how does it seal off these holes? NuFlow is actually a resin. The epoxy resin is applied to the inside of the pipe, essentially creating a sleeve. Similar to trenchless plumbing, NuFlow technology has changed the way plumbers deal with leaks throughout the plumbing system because of older pipes. NuFlow has been around since 1998 and has restored millions of feet of pipe. It has quickly become the top choice for plumbing repairs associated with older or corroded pipes.

How Do You Know If You Need It?

Would you like to restore your home's plumbing without digging up your yard or going through costly procedures for accessing your pipes? How do you know if NuFlow is right for you? While your norman plumbing might recommend this option for your needs, you might have indications occurring right now in your home that screams it's time to take action. Having an older home or older plumbing pipes would be a good candidate for this type of repair versus more invasive options. A few other issues to look out for include:

-Discolored water- could look orange as a sign of rust
-Decline in water pressure
-Limited flow

What To Expect From The Installation?

Restoring your plumbing doesn't have to take as long as you normally would think—not when having NuFlow. Unlike trench repairs that require you to dig up the yard or have to remove drywall to access plumbing pipes, NuFlow has very few steps and takes only a day or two to complete.

Before the epoxy can be applied, the lines will need to be cleaned out. Lines need to be cleaned out for the epoxy to stick. They also require cleaning so your plumber can identify the exact source of the leak. In-line camera inspections can be used to target the area, allowing for better application. After the line is clear and leaks are identified, your plumber applies the resin. After a full cure, you can have trouble-free plumbing for years to come.
